Cognitive Science Study Abroad Scholarship

The Department of Cognitive Science is pleased to award 6 scholarships of $1,000 each to students who will participate in study abroad programs, including but not limited to EAP, OAP, and Global Seminars. The Cognitive Science Study Abroad Scholarship is open to all Cognitive Science majors.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants for the Cognitive Science Study Abroad Scholarship must: 

  • Be registered, full-time majors in Cognitive Science
  • Have sophomore standing by the time their study abroad program begins
  • Be in good academic standing
  • Meet all requirements and prerequisites for their study abroad program
  • Demonstrate financial need for the scholarship as determined by their total resources (including parental and spousal support), receipt of other scholarships and grants, and cost of education

Submission Materials

In order to apply for the Cognitive Science Study Abroad Scholarship, students will need to assemble the following documents and email them to cogscisa@ucsd.edu during the application period:

  • A completed and signed Study Abroad Scholarship application
  • A one thousand-word essay discussing the prompts on the application form
  • Any materials that the committee may find useful when processing the application

Application Timeline

The application period for students studying abroad Summer 2018 & Fall 2018 is closed.

Once the application period has ended and all submissions have been received, each application will be reviewed by the Cognitive Science Study Abroad Scholarship Committee. Only complete applications will be considered. Once the review process is finished, awardees will be notified of the funding they will receive by email.
